BASILE -- Coming back to your Alma mater to become the head football coach can be a daunting undertaking.

It was a season to remember for a number of parish football teams, as three of the five programs were able to earn playoff bids, with Sacred Heart and Ville Platte reaching the first round and Basi

It was a week full of action for four parish hard court teams, as non-district action has heated up before the Christmas holidays and the district season begins come January.

The 2017 version of The Gazette’s football contest came down to the end for both the individual and business versions.

BASILE – Not all championship games turn out to be barn burners. A lot of times the hype does not live up to the contest itself.

Former Basile High standout basketball player, Riley James, has helped propel the LSU-E Lady Bengals to a fast-paced 9-2 record to start the 2017-18 season.

Once again it is time for another hard court season in Evangeline Parish.
