Mamou (G)
vs. Ville Platte
Ville Platte began the game by scoring the first four points with two free throws from Shayla Hickerson and a basket from Tahjalyn Jack. Mamou cut the lead down to two on bucket from Markaysha Johnson.
Jack hit a three-pointer to put the Lady Bulldogs up by five, however the Lady Demons answered with a 5-0 run to tie the game at 7-7 with 4:14 to go in the quarter.
Ville Platte went back up by five just 1:17 later behind two baskets from Trinity Leday. By the time the buzzer sounded to end the period, the Lady Bulldogs held a 16-13 advantage.
It was slow going offensively for both teams over the first 2:35 of the second quarter. Mamou picked up the pace enough to take a 19-18 lead at the 3:42 mark of the period.
The lead see-sawed back and forth until the final minute and a half of the quarter. In the last 90 seconds of the half, Ville Platte went on a 4-1 run, including a last second basket by Alyssa Fontenot, to own a 29-25 lead as the teams headed into the locker room.
The second half opened with the Lady Demons scoring the initial four points over the first 52 seconds to tie the game back up. But, the Lady Bulldogs responded with a 13-3 run over the remaining time in the period to go up 42-32.
Ville Platte pulled the ball out in the fourth quarter and forced Mamou to defend up high. That strategy allowed the Lady Bulldogs the chance to score the final nine of 13 points in the game to seal the win.
Leday led all scorers with 21 points. Brianna Thibodeaux was high scorer for Mamou with 16 points.

Mamou (B)
vs. Ville Platte
The nightcap on Tuesday started off very close, with Ville Platte owning a 5-2 lead following the first 3:30 of the game. From that point on, the Bulldogs got on track both offensively and defensively to end the quarter with an 18-8 advantage.
Mamou tried to get back into the game at the beginning of the second quarter, scoring five points. However, Ville Platte hit on two three-point baskets during that same time span to extend their lead to 14 points.
From the 5:40 mark of the second quarter up until the buzzer sounded to conclude the first half, the Bulldogs out-scored the Demons 16-3 and headed into the locker room with a 48-18 advantage.
The third and fourth quarters were no different than the previous two. Ville Platte continued their domination on both sides of the floor and held a 62-23 lead after three quarters of play and then outpaced Mamou 25-10 over the final eight minutes.
