Tuesday night was not kind to both Pine Prairie and Basile High basketball squads as all four teams took big hits at home in district competition.
First, the Basile Lady Bearcats let a two point third quarter lead evaporate in a 70-67 loss to the Oberlin Lady Tigers. With that loss, Basile falls to 7-5 on the year and 0-6 in District 4-1A play.
A slow start offensively by Basile allowed the Oberlin Tigers to capture a 64-53 win over the Bearcats. Basile drops to 2-13 on the season and 1-4 in league competition.
On the northern side of the parish, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers were unable to handle the No. 1 Northwest Lady Raiders, as they dropped a 58-39 loss. Pine Prairie is now 17-7 on the year and 1-2 in District 5-3A play.
Meanwhile, the Pine Prairie Panthers did not score in double digits in any quarter as they were knocked out by the Northwest Raiders 71-27. The Panthers fall to 1-21 on the season and 0-1 in district. Here is a rundown of those four games played.
