Boggy Bayou Festival makes donation

A donation was recently made from the Boggy Bayou Festival Association to the Prairie Manor Nursing Home. A check in the amount $17 thousand for the purchase a whirlpool tub for the residents was made. Every year the festival donates proceeds to the nursing home from the annual festival.

The Evangeline Parish Basketball Tournament began on Wednesday, November 29, in Basile with the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans playing the host Lady Bearcats. The Sacred Heart Trojans then played the Bearcats, and the first day concluded with a pair of games between Mamou and Pine Prairie.

On Tuesday, November 14, French Immersion students enjoyed a full day of learning all about African culture. Several stations were set up to teach students about cuisine, mask making, art, dance and oral tradition.
