Davenport is inducted

The newest inductees into the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame are Tracey Rambin, of Benton High School; Scott Deshotel, of Eunice High School; Robert Davenport, of Sacred Heart High School. Davenport was head coach of the Lady Trojans from 1992-2000 and from 2007-2011 and head coach at Beau Chene in 2001. He was former president and vice president of the Louisiana High School Softball Coaches Association, charter/ lifetime member of the Louisiana High School Softball Association, member of the National Softball Coaches Association All Star Selection Committee, and assistant coach of the All Star Game. His teams won five state championships and 11 district championships. He was named district coach of the year 11 times, All Acadiana Coach of the Year, LSCA Softball Coach of the Year, and LSWA Coach of the Year. His overall coaching record is 342-64. Davenport received his award in Pineville on Saturday, May 11, and is pictured on the right with Tiffany Wood, president-elect of LSCA (left).
