Jesus’ disciples had to share something of the enmity, the hate and opposition that Jesus encountered. Jesus told His disciples, “If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?” (Matt. 10:25 KJV).

We read in the Gospel of Luke 18:10-14 of a parable Jesus taught about a Pharisee and a publican who went to the temple to pray. The Pharisee prayed loudly, thanking God that he was a good man, not like other men who were robbers, evil doers, and not like the publican who was in the temple.

Jesus said, as recorded in John 15:4 KJV, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it aide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” The Christian life can be condensed into one word; abiding.

Rotary President LeBlanc lays out his vision for the year

With no guest speaker for the September 7, meeting of the Ville Platte Rotary Club, members enjoyed a nice meal and fellowship. Rotary President Jimmy LeBlanc gave an update on upcoming club events. He said at the most recent board meeting, a lot was accomplished and discussed.
