Birotte is sentenced

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office announced, on Monday, September 18, Timothy Birotte was sentenced to 45 years at hard labor for attempted second degree murder.

Guilty verdict is returned

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office has announced Joshua James Broussard was convicted of attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a three-day trial that ended Wednesday, September 20.

Attempted burglary of carwash leads to arrests

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, on August 23, received a complaint of an attempted business burglary that occurred at the carwash located at 3030 Old Hwy 13.

Possession of meth leads to federal sentence

LAFAYETTE – Eric Martin, 36, of Ethel, was sentenced for possession of methamphetamine announced United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown. United States District Judge Robert R. Summerhays sentenced Martin to 274 months (22 years, 10 months) in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release.
