Evangeline Parish - On June 19, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office requested Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Louisiana Highway 13 at Junction Road in Evangeline Parish.

EPSO reports recent drug arrests

On June 1st 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop. Agents made contact with the driver and advised of the reason for the stop. The driver was very nervous and jittery.

One is dead after shooting in Ville Platte

Ville Platte Chief of Police Al Perry Thomas confirmed one victim has died and a suspect is in custody following a shooting. The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, on the 600 block of N. Chataignier St.

Trattles is arrested for sex crimes

On May 1, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division opened an investigation in reference to a possible attempted sexual assault involving two female victims.

Escaped inmate is captured

On May 30, Sheriff Charles Guillory received a phone call from a local Lafayette television station advising that Jody Thomas Thrasher, an inmate who escaped from the parish jail on Sunday, May 28, had called and was wanting to turn himself in. The T.V.

EPSO seeks escaped inmate

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department is looking for an inmate who escaped on the 28 of May 2023. The escaped inmate was in custody for drug and gun charges. The escaped inmate is believed to still be in the Evangeline parish area.
