Sacred Heart faces St. Martin in first playoff match-up

VILLE PLATTE -- According to Sacred Heart head baseball coach Gary Ashworth, tomorrow’s Division IV regional playoff match-up with No. 11 seed St. Martin’s Episcopal out of Metairie will be no picnic. The regional round of the post-season in Division IV is a best two-out-of-three series.

Mamou completes season; drops first post-season game

IOWA -- It was just not meant to be for the Mamou Demons in 2018. The No. 23 seeded Demons ended their season here Tuesday afternoon when they fell to the No. 10 seeded Iowa Yellow Jackets by the scored of 9-2. With the loss, Mamou finishes the year with an overall record of 13-21.

PINE PRAIRIE -- For the third year in a row, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers have found themselves in the quarter-final round of the LHSAA softball playoffs. This time around it was after taking down the Mamou Lady Demons 11-1 Friday afternoon in regional playoff action.

MAMOU -- It has been an up and down season all year long for the Mamou High baseball team, and the end of the year was no exception. The Demons closed out 2018 by going 0-2 this past week in non-district action, losing to Welsh 2-1 on Tuesday and falling to Westminster 5-3 on Thursday.
