The Ville Platte Lions Club Annual Flea Fly game will be held on Sunday, October 23, for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. An exhibition game will be played on Friday, October 21, at halftime during Sacred Heart’s game against Westminster.

Mamou High School will celebrate its homecoming Friday, October 7, with a game against the Ville Platte High Bulldogs. A pep rally will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 5:30 p.m. and the game at 7 p.m.

Martin Thomas, a graduate of Mamou High School, recently traveled to a band instrument auction in Arkansas and purchased 42 instruments to donate to the Ville Platte High School and Mamou High School marching bands.

St. Landry-Evangeline United Way is hosting a Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive. Donate a pre-made supply kit or make a bulk order. All supplies purchased will be delivered to United Way at no additional costs. Donations will be accepted through Friday, August 5.
