Grand Opening for Pine Claire Creations (Savoy Hospital Lobby), located at 801 Poinciana in Mamou, was held Thursday, September 1. They will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

VPHS 2022 Homecoming Court

Ville Platte High School will celebrate its homecoming Friday, October 14, with a game against the Port Barre High Red Devils. A pep rally will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 4 p.m. and the game at 7 p.m.

Cajun culture lovers from near and far converged on Lakeview Park and Beach as Le Grand Hoorah made a festive return. The festivities began on Saturday, September 24, with a boucherie by the Pa-ta-sa Cooking Krewe.

Flea Fly registration is held

The Ville Platte Lions Club Annual Flea Fly game will be held on Sunday, October 23, for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. An exhibition game will be played on Friday, October 21, at halftime during Sacred Heart’s game against Westminster.

Mamou High School will celebrate its homecoming Friday, October 7, with a game against the Ville Platte High Bulldogs. A pep rally will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 5:30 p.m. and the game at 7 p.m.

VPHS and MHS bands receive donations

Martin Thomas, a graduate of Mamou High School, recently traveled to a band instrument auction in Arkansas and purchased 42 instruments to donate to the Ville Platte High School and Mamou High School marching bands.

Students, faculty, and staff members of Ville Platte High School gathered for a time of morning prayer, on Monday, August 22, to grieve the passing of the school’s secretary Frances Pitre (pictured in the inset photo).
