Memorial is held for VPHS secretary

Students, faculty, and staff members of Ville Platte High School gathered for a time of morning prayer, on Monday, August 22, to grieve the passing of the school’s secretary Frances Pitre (pictured in the inset photo). Principal Chenile Tezeno, in a statement, said of Pitre’s passing, “Ville Platte High gives condolences to the Thomas and Pitre family. Our Bulldog family lost a beautiful soul that held us all together. Although we have gained a beautiful angel, our hearts grieve because we will miss her dearly. Mrs. Francis touched so many lives with her warm and loving heart. She shared so much laughter with her jokes, stories, and even dances. She was my right hand and a big part of my heart. I’ll forever treasure all the memories that we shared. We love you so much our guardian angel and forever Bulldog!” Final arrangements for Sis. Frances Ann Thomas Pitre are scheduled for Saturday, August 27, at the Ninth Missionary Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., and the funeral service will begin 11 a.m. Pictured is head Bulldog football coach Roy Serie as he leads part of the service. (Photo by Nicholas Jagneaux)
