The Ville Platte Police Department, on Thursday, July 9, responded to a crash at a former restaurant on East Main Street. According to information received from the police department, a dump truck was attempting to turn into the B&S parking lot and clipped a 2014 Hyundai RCN, which was driven by a single adult female. The female skidded across East Main Street and into the old El Charro building. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries but was transported to a hospital in Lafayette. The driver of the Hyundai was the only occupant of the vehicle. No other details can be given at this time. Pictured is the scene after law enforcement and medical personnel arrived.
