Fifty years to the date after the Roe v. Wade decision, the annual Pro-Life Walk was held in Ville Platte on Sunday, January 22. This year, the walk was held in thanksgiving for last year’s Supreme Court decision which overturned the decision in Roe v.

A new chief of police, a new mayor, and three new councilmembers for the City of Ville Platte took their oaths of office at separate ceremonies on Friday, December 30. At 10 a.m. that morning at Ville Platte City Court, Al Perry Thomas was sworn in as newly elected police chief.
