Fifty years to the date after the Roe v. Wade decision, the annual Pro-Life Walk was held in Ville Platte on Sunday, January 22. This year, the walk was held in thanksgiving for last year’s Supreme Court decision which overturned the decision in Roe v. Wade and ultimately left abortion up to the states. The city’s walk began at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church after the 10:30 a.m. Mass and ended at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. The event ended at Sacred Heart where Leslie Johnson was guest speaker about the Embrace Grace program to help women with unplanned pregnancies. Pictured is the walk as it leaves OLQAS.
