VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Kenneth Rodney Veillon, 50, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, in the LaVille Funeral Home Chapel. Kenneth, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.

On Wednesday, September 15, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, along with deputies from the patrol division, conducted a search warrant in Ville Platte at the residence of 723 South Dupre St. Apartment #85).

Sheriff Charles Guillory announced Sawyer Gunter of Evangeline Parish has been named the recipient of an academic scholarship from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program for the 220-2021 school year.

This hunting season will be very special for Luke Deville and his young son, Levi, of Ville Platte. Six-year-old Levi will get to experience duck hunting with his dad for the first time. The father-son hunting tradition is being passed down to the next generation, and Luke says Levi, “is pumped up.

The Refinery Mission hosts annual Hunters for the Hungry Food Drive

LAFAYETTE – The Refinery Mission’s annual Hunters for the Hungry food drive will be held on Sunday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Local sportsmen and their families are encouraged to “clean out your freezers” and donate frozen processed game and fish from the 2020 season.
