Sheriff Charles Guillory announced Sawyer Gunter of Evangeline Parish has been named the recipient of an academic scholarship from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program for the 220-2021 school year. He resides in Ville Platte and plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice and pursue computer science as a field of study. His parents are Monica Reed and Jake Gunter.
