4-H is a club that has been around since 1902. It began as an agricultural club that taught teens new techniques to bring home to the farm. In 2021 it is so much more than that. 4-H in Evangeline Parish begins its year with a huge celebration as part of the Cotton Festival.

Ville Platte – The Louisiana State Police has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. They are requesting assistance locating 80-year-old James L. Ardoin of Ville Platte. He was reported missing on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Little did Winston Guillory know when he started running the Tournoi in 1959, he would end up building a family legacy that continues today through his children, grandchildren, grandson-in-law and nephews. He became Tournoi champion for the first time in 1963, and won twice more in 1965 and 1971.

MAMOU - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou for Weston John Deshotel, 94, who passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. Deacon Chuck Ortego presided over the funeral services.
