Fine art is displayed at Mamou High Den

By: TONY MARKS Editor The fine art class at Mamou High School held a first annual exhibit of its visual arts projects and were presented with awards on Wednesday, May 11, inside the School Den. Presenting the awards were fine arts teacher Kate LaCaze, who said her mission in the class was exposure.

On May 7, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 8100 Blk. of Bond Rd located in the Reddell area in reference to someone being shot in the leg.
PROFESSIONAL GRAND CHAMPION - Teet’s Food Store Team 1, with head chef Justin Lafleur and team members Luke Deville and Lonnie Andrus, was the overall professional grand champion winner with their dish “Duck Bombs.” The team also placed first in professional tasso, professional smoked seafood, and professional smoked game.

Cooperative endeavor with Belaire Cove is approved

By: NANCY DUPLECHAIN Staff Reporter The Ville Platte City Council met Tuesday, March 10 where it approved a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Belaire Cove Fire Station to use land behind the station as a training site for firefighters. The Lincoln Road Fire Station has been used for training.
