Staff Report Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, April 4, were dispatched to the 3100 Blk. of Tate Cove Rd. located in the unincorporated area of Ville Platte in reference to a simple burglary and a motor vehicle theft.

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Evangeline Parish teachers of the year will be honored at a special ceremony to be held Tuesday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. at Cajun Catfish Buffet. The district’s high school teacher of the year is Emee Aswell, of Ville Platte High.

Truck gets “French fried” on Whiteville Road

By: TONY MARKS Editor Seven units and 17 firefighters from Ville Platte, Belaire Cove, and Faubourg Fire Departments responded to a fiery scene on the Whiteville Road near the intersection of Lamar Road. At the scene, the firefighters were containing a vehicle fire that was reported at 1:32 p.m.
