Charley Rivers was born in Alexandria and raised in Simmesport. At nine years old, Charley received his first guitar from his mother. He sang in his church choir, and it wasn’t long before he was entertaining family and friends.

Besides the musical acts, this year’s Boggy Bayou Festival will feature plenty other entertainment. Thursday, May 12, is Family Night and Worship with praise dancers and a message from Christ Church of Oakdale. There will also be a message from Coach Jake Guillory and Joel Middleton.
