Teachers of the year are to be honored at gala

The Evangeline Parish School District will honor its teachers and principals of the year at a candlelight gala on Tuesday, May 9, at Ville Platte High School. Lights will go out at 5:15 p.m., and the gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. All attendees will receive a 21-inch lighted wand.

On November 17, 2022, Deputies responded to the Bayou Chicot Dollar General located at 4680 US. Hwy 167 N in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the victim attempted to stop the suspect from leaving the store parking lot with stolen merchandise.
