Roberts is arrested for aggravated battery

On November 17, 2022, Deputies responded to the Bayou Chicot Dollar General located at 4680 US. Hwy 167
N in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the victim attempted to stop the suspect from
leaving the store parking lot with stolen merchandise. During the process, the suspect struck the victim with
her vehicle almost running over the victim. During the investigation Detectives were able to identify the
suspect as being Erica Joane Roberts B/F DOB 05/04/1990 of Ville Platte.
On March 28, 2023, an arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery was obtained for Roberts. Roberts was taken
into custody by the Ville Platte Police Department on April 26, 2023 and released the following day with a
$5,000.00 bond.
