Teachers of the year are to be honored at gala

The Evangeline Parish School District will honor its teachers and principals of the year at a candlelight gala on Tuesday, May 9, at Ville Platte High School. Lights will go out at 5:15 p.m., and the gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. All attendees will receive a 21-inch lighted wand. Over $17,100 in cash will be given to the honorees.
