The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons: •Tom Frank, 30, was arrested July 22, 2026, for DWI 1st offense and careless operation.

Local Catholic student wins La. KC scholarship

Staff Report BATON ROUGE — Basile High School senior Charlee Smith earned statewide recognition on Saturday, April 11, placing second in the Louisiana Knights of Columbus Catholic Youth Leadership Award (CYLA) competition.

VILLE PLATTE - Evangeline Community Action Agency Inc. is announcing the availability of funds for the Older Adult Home Modification Program (OAHMP). This program is to make safety and functional home modifications and limited repairs to meet the needs of low-income elderly homeowners and renters.
