Press Release A quick-thinking dog groomer alerted authorities after cutting the hair of a client’s two dogs. The two small dogs, a Yorkie and a Poodle mix, appeared extremely underweight, with both dogs’ hip bones, spinal columns, and ribs clearly visible.

Secretary Landry unveils 2026 “I Voted” sticker design

BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry unveiled the design for the 2026 “I Voted” sticker on Tuesday, July 28, at Louisiana’s Old Governor’s Mansion. The artwork for this year’s sticker was created by New Orleans artist Terrance Osborne, who also attended the unveiling.

Stewart elected to board of directors

At the American Public Power Association (APPA) Annual Business Meeting, which was held during this year’s National Conference in Boston, Mass., LUS Director Jeffrey Stewart, a 1996 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, was elected to serve a three-year term on the APPA Board of Directors.
