Charges are dismissed against former TC assistant chief

By: TONY MARKS Editor Nine counts of malfeasance in office and one count of possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance were dismissed without prejudice against former Turkey Creek Assistant Chief of Police Chris Lemaire on Thursday, March 23.

Weapons, currency, and illegal narcotics are recovered in Mamou

Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles R. Guillory released the following. On March 20, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant on a residence on East Street in the Town of Mamou. Agents entered the residence and detained three people without incident.

Mahaffey is charged with card theft

On February 14, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to a theft of two credit cards. During the investigation, it was discovered the victim had multiple unauthorized transactions that were made within Evangeline Parish and Avoyelles Parish.
