The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Gideon Lee Joseph, 33, Mamou, was arrested April 5, 2023, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for court.

Battery of the infirm leads to arrest

On April 4, 2023, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 500 Blk. of Wyble Rd. Ville Platte, La. in reference to an elderly 85 year old W/F victim suffering from multiple injuries.

LEKEISHA RASHELLE ARVIE AGE 27 (DOB 2-21-1996) WAS LAST SEEN IN THE AREA OF AVIE ST IN THE CHATAGINIER AREA OF EVANGELINE PARISH ON 4/3/2023. FAMILY MEMBERS ARE CONCERNED BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER SINCE.

Councilman’s vehicle is involved in crash

By: TONY MARKS Editor A Polaris Slingshot belonging to Ville Platte City Councilman Bryant Riggs was involved in a crash on Saturday, March 25. The crash occurred near a wooded area on LaSalle Street near the intersection of Tate Cove Road.

Accident claims the life of victim

On the 25 th of March 2023 at approximately 12:53 am the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department responded to an accident on Rocky Lane near LA. Hwy. 10. Upon arrival Deputies found a four-wheeler in the ditch and an unresponsive male.
