An investigation by the Mamou Police Department lead to the arrest of Jaziah Skinner, 15, of VillePlatte
for Attempted Second Degree Murder and Vindezz Thibodeaux, 22, of Eunice, for Principle to Attempted
Second Degree Murder. On April 15, 2023, around 2:00 pm, the Mamou Police department received
multiple calls about shots fired around the 400 block of East street. As a result of the investigation, a
shooting suspect was discovered and later identified as Jaziah Skinner. On Saturday, April 15, Jaziah
Skinner began firing on a vehicle belonging to a Eunice resident, as it passed by a residence that Josiah
was standing in front of on East street, striking the vehicle three times. The victim was not struck. Jaziah
was later arrested and charged along with Vindezz Thibodeaux, who was present at the time of the
shooting
The incident is believed to be in retaliation for a previous shooting that took place in the neighboring
city of Eunice.

Another investigation conducted by the Mamou Police Department lead to the arrest of Jacoby Jack, 21,
of Mamou and Vindezz Thibodeaux, 22, of Eunice, on the charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder
and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felons. On April 16, 2023, around 6:00pm, the Mamou Police
Department received a call about shots fired on the 600 block of Mulberry street, in Mamou. Jacoby
Jack, while driving a gray 2008 Pontiac G6, pulled along side Vindezz Thibodeaux as he was walked east
on Mulberry street at which time the two fired upon each other. Both were later arrested and charged.
This incident is believe to be in retaliation for the shooting which was reported to have accrued on the
400 block of East street in Mamou the previous day.
A traffic stop, by Mamou Police officers, lead to the arrest of two and the removal of Schedule II
Narcotics off of the streets of Mamou. Dustin Dan Davitt, 36, of Breaux Bridge and Christopher Paul
Frazier, 40, of Lafayette were both arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II Narcotics, and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On April 22, 2023, Mamou Police officers stop a 2014 Hyundai Santa
Fe, driven by Davitt, for speeding. Davitt was driving with a suspended license at the time of the stop. An
Inventory of the vehicle, conducted by Mamou Police officers, prior to towing, lead to the discovery of
17.6 grams of Crystal Meth and Drug Paraphernalia. Dustin Dan Davitt was also charged and booked
into the Mamou Jail for Driving Under Suspension.
