The summer kicked off with a bang as the Ville Platte Elite 8U All-Stars ran through their first tournament of the season with an undefeated record and claimed the top spot with two wins over the Ville Platte Select 8U All-Stars in Rayne.

The Ville Platte 10U All-Stars and 6U All-Stars combined to go 11-0 this past weekend in their first tournament of the season, which was held in Rayne.
The 10U team, along the way, picked up two wins against Eunice Blue All-Stars and two wins against 10U American All-Stars.

MAMOU - For the Mamou baseball team, this season was a little bit of a letdown after last year’s first-round win over Many in a best-of-three series. The Green Demons, this season, with an 11-17 record and got swept by Many in the best-of-three series to open the playoffs.

High school physicals are held

Healthworks Rehab, on Thursday, May 21, held preseason athletic physicals for high school athletes from Ville Platte, Mamou, Pine Prairie, and Sacred Heart. The physicals included screenings from optometrists, physical therapists, dentists, and physicians before final clearance.
