Parish ballers are named to All-District teams

By: TONY MARKS Editor The season’s accolades continue to pile up for the Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs as Bri’Telah Freeman was named the most valuable player and head coach Rhonda Thomas was named coach of the year in District 4-3A.

Four Bulldog errors lead to 20-0 loss against Green Demons

Charlie strikes out 7 in Lady Bulldog win over Northwest

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - In her five innings in the circle Tuesday afternoon, Camryn Charlie recorded seven strikeouts and allowed one earned run on four hits as her Ville Platte Lady Bulldog team eased past Northwest 14-1.

Four-RBI day for Weidner sends Kinder over Sacred Heart

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - A two home run day from Grant Weidner sent the Kinder baseball team to a 5-2 win over the Sacred Heart Trojans in the back end of a junior varsity-varsity doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Weidner produced four of the Yellow Jackets’ RBI.

Payton’s Place: Veillon shuts down Blue Jays for 5-1 win

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Sacred Heart pitcher Payton Veillon, on Tuesday, limited the St. Edmund Blue Jays to no runs through six innings. His only run allowed came in the top of the seventh inning in a 5-1 win for the Trojans.

McNeese falls to Vanderbilt, 78-68, in NCAA First Round

Making a statement: Bayou Chicot Elementary goes undefeated in tournament to win state title

By: TONY MARKS Editor Champions again reside in Bayou Chicot. The Bayou Chicot Elementary softball team went undefeated in all four games of the state tournament to claim another Louisiana Junior High School Athletic Association state championship.
