School safety meeting is held

Older Americans Month is celebrated at Chateau Des Amis

Cornhole competition is held at Special Olympics

Evangeline Parish schools held their third and final Special Olympics event with a cornhole competition on Tuesday, May 10, at Bayou Chicot Elementary. Mamou High placed first, Vidrine Elementary placed second, and Bayou Chicot Elementary placed third.

Employee and Resident of the Month named

Mary Z. Darbonne (left photo) was chosen as Resident of the Month for May at Heritage Manor, while Mona Thomas (right photo) was chosen as Employee of the Month. Darbonne has been a resident at the facility for seven months and enjoys all activities and socials. She has five children (two deceased).

Bishop Deshotel blesses New Life Pregnancy Center

With the news of the recent events coming out of the United States Supreme Court regarding Roe v. Wade and the right to life, Bishop Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette blessed the New Life Pregnancy Center in Mamou on Thursday, May 12.

National Day of Prayer is observed
