Sacred Heart High presents the Passion

Sacred Heart students presented its annual Passion on Thursday, April 14, when the Church celebrated Holy Thursday in commemoration of the Lord’s Last Supper. The Passion at the school consisted of a walk in the gymnasium that traced Christ’s final steps on his way to Cavalry.

Gordon Fontenot (left photo) was chosen as Resident of the Month for March at Heritage Manor, while Michaella Fontenot (right photo) was chosen as Employee of the Month. Gordon is very sociable and loves all activities, staff and other residents. He and his mother enjoy sitting outdoors.

Weather forces closures and sandbags to be filled

Evangeline Parish was impacted by heavy rains that fell Tuesday, March 22. Some areas reported two inches of rainfall. The weather closed all public schools in the parish as well as Sacred Heart and closed Ville Platte City Hall.

Floyd Soileau and Randel Chapman each presented a check to the City of Ville Platte for the payment of the construction costs of a handicap ramp at the Ville Platte Civic Center. A Ribbon Cutting and an Open House was held on Friday, February 18, 2022 for LaBrie’s Child Daycare Center, LLC located at 203 N. Coreil St. in Ville Platte. The event was a huge success with a large turnout supporting the opening of the daycare.
