MAMOU - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Veronica “Ronnie” Soileau at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Father Bola Rayapati was the celebrant of the Mass. Interment followed at the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum in Mamou. Visitation was held from 4 p.m.

MAMOU - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Brenda Dupre McGee at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice. Father Hampton Davis was the celebrant of the mass, which was followed by interment at Reed Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 p.m.

RONALD “RONNIE JOE” JOE BURKETT

MAMOU – Ronnie Joe Burkett, 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his residence in Mamou. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

ROBERT “B.J.” WAYNE FONTENOT

VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Robert “B.J.” Wayne Fontenot, 77, were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed in the B.J. Fontenot Cemetery. Father Tom Voorhies officiated the funeral Mass.

RAPHAEL KENT ARDOIN

Raphael Kent Ardoin, age 79, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge of natural causes. It was Kent’s wishes that his body be donated to LSU to help advance future medical treatments. There will be no public service provided.

Funeral services for Stephen Anthony “Chocolate” Manuel were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, in the chapel at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte. Father Andrew Killeen was the officiant of the service, which was followed by entombment at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
