LULING - Funeral services for Jacqueline “Jackie” Soileau Clements, 80, will be held at 1 p.m. today, February 2, 2023, at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Fr. John G. “Buddy” Breaux, from Our Lady of the Lake Church, in Delcambre, will officiate the funeral Mass.
A visitation will be held today, February 2, 2023, in the LaVille Funeral Home Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services, with a Rosary being recited at 12 p.m.
Jackie, a resident of Luling, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Calcutta House in Lafayette.
Jackie was a 1960 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a graduate of USL and received her master’s degree from Nicholls State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics and a master’s in administration and supervision. She taught home economics for 18 years before transferring to food service, worked as food service director for an additional 17 years, and was a very accomplished seamstress. She was a very active member of the Louisiana Women’s Golf Association and served as the chairperson of the Legislative Committee of Food Service Directors. She had a deep tremendous faith and was a beautiful example of self-giving love, caring for her husband tirelessly, with strength and grace, during his many years of convalescence.
She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Pamela C. Norfleet and husband, Sonny, of Opelousas; son, Earl E. Clements Jr. and wife, Francie, of Rowlett, Texas; brothers, Dr. Hosea “Joey” Soileau Jr. (Kim), of Ville Platte, Dr. William “Billly” Soileau (Kyle Delheiro), of New Orleans, Chad Soileau (Andre), of Ville Platte; sister, Karen Wall, of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Lauren Bercier (Collin), Slade Norfleet, Cameron N. Pivach (Matthew), Nicholas Clements (Chelsey), Ryan Clements, and Amanda C. Groshek (Dwight); three great-grandchildren, Cohen Bercier, Lawson Bercier, and Madeline Clements.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Anna Lou Stelly Soileau; husband, Earl E. Clements Sr.; sister, Annette Breaux; brothers-in-law Dutton Wall and Gale Breaux; nephew, Jubal Wall; niece, Windy B. Harris; and great-nephew, Chase Manuel.
