GOLBERT JOSEPH FUSELIER JR.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved brother, Golbert “Gobley” Joseph Fuselier, of Ville Platte, who passed away at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, on August 3, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends.

ELAINE MARIE FRAZIER

Elaine Marie Camel Frazier, 83, passed away August 5, 2023, in Conway, Ark. She was born August 4, 1940, in Cankton to Velma Mae Savoie and Leopold Camel. She and her siblings were raised in Ville Platte. There will be a private graveside service in Conway, Ark.

HOLLY RAE MANUEL CHAPMAN

Holly Rae Manuel Chapman passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 44. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Sanctuary of Praise officiated by Donald and Patricia Duplechain. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery.

Lura Smith, age 86, passed away on July 9, 2023. A celebration of life is scheduled for August 5, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation is at 1 p.m., and the service is at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

Donald R. Johnson, an 83-year-old retired truck driver, passed away on July 25, 2023, at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria after a brief illness. Johnson was a native of Ville Platte and a resident of Vidrine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and wine making.
