VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services were held at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, for Terryl Wayne Guillory, 68, who passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.

MAX WILTON FONTENOT

Max Wilton Fontenot, 86, of Sulphur, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, in a local care facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Father Andrew Killeen will officiate the services.

VENITER JOYCE DUPLECHIN

MAMOU - Funeral services were held at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, September 6, 2021, for Veniter Joyce Duplechin, 92, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

EPSO Arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Julie B. Russ was arrested on September 9, 2021, for disturbing the peace by intoxication and public bribery. Russ was released on no bond.

SHS School will resume tomorrow September 15 for Kindergarten-12th grade.

TCPD confiscates narcotics following traffic stops

Turkey Creek Police Department has been busy hitting the streets over the past month and has been ensuring the safety of the people by conducting several traffic stops, confiscating narcotics, and apprehending dangerous felons.
