Turkey Creek Christmas Parade is reset

Because of weather conditions, the Turkey Creek Christmas Parade is reset for Saturday, December 18. Lineup will be at 10 a.m., and the parade will begin at 11 a.m. There is no cost to enter, and registration starts now. For more information, contact village hall at 337-224-4468.

Jordan Anderson, the son of the late Lionel “Coach” Anderson, was sworn in as Ville Platte city councilman for District D to fill the vacancy. He took the oath of office on Thursday, December 2, from Third Circuit Court of Appeals Judge J. Larry Vidrine.

MAMOU – Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Saturday, December 4, 2021, for Dianna Faye Ardoin, 61, who passed on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Deacon Gary Gaudin conducted the funeral services. Burial took place in St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery in Eunice.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Heather Lee Taylor, 23, St. Landry, was arrested November 17, 2021, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for battery of a police officer.
