Mamou Police books suspect wanted for thefts

Mamou Police Department has booked another wanted suspect in connection to thefts in the area. Aaron Guidry who had an active felony warrant and was wanted for thefts of ATV’s, was captured in Lake Arthur Thursday.

ATV accident claims life of child

A five-year-old child, Denihm Ryan Williams, was pronounced dead at Opelousas General Hospital following an ATV crash in a field near the area of Raiders Road and Frilot Cove Road in St. Landry Parish. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said the child’s mother called his department at 4:43 p.m.

Cella Fontenot was born July 6, 1961, in Ville Platte. After becoming a photo specialist, she moved to Texas City, Texas, and began working for Walgreens. Cella Fontenot was a very loyal and active member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where she met Edward James.
