EPSO Arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Danielle Renee Russell, 33, Ville Platte, was arrested January 4, 2022, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for court.

Jury convicts Rollins on three out of five counts

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney's Office announced the guilty verdicts of simple kidnapping, domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, and simple battery rendered against Nicholas Rollins in the five day jury trial which ended last Friday night at approximately 7 p.m.

Shooting in Ville Platte is being investigated

Chief Neal Lartigue reports a shooting. On January 8, 2022 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in an apartment complex in the 800 block of North Latour Street in Ville Platte.

“I still have fear every night”

TCPD remains busy over holidays

Officers with the Turkey Creek Police Department, on December 22, 2021, assisted Louisiana State Police Probation and Parole with a compliance check on a Mathew Johnson. Upon arrival at the residence, Johnson admitted he and Mary Hebert had marijuana in their possession.

Omicron cases continue to dominate spread

BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) estimates the proportion of Omicron cases in our state has increased from 88.5% to 90.2% for the week ending January 1.* As of Thursday, January 6, LDH reported 10,403 new cases of the coronavirus bringing the number of total cases to 879,549.
