By: TONY MARKS Editor The Chataignier Village Council, during its meeting held Monday, March 18, voted to adopt an ordinance that increases the salary for the chief of police from $600 per month to $1,500 per month.

EPPJ tables proposed tax exemption for Bayou Chicot Solar, LLC

By: TONY MARKS Editor At a special meeting held Tuesday, March 19, the Evangeline Parish Police Jury voted 8-1 to table a proposed 75% property tax exemption for Bayou Chicot Solar, LLC. The lone vote against tabling the proposal came from Jury President Bryan Vidrine.

Before the meeting, a public hearing was held to receive public input and comments regarding LCDBG’s Clearance Program.
