By: HEATHER BOGARD Associate Editor Rotarian Ronnie Landreneau welcomed Evangeline Parish Police Jury President Bryan Vidrine as the guest speaker for the July 30, meeting of the Ville Platte Rotary Club. Vidrine gave an update on several ongoing and upcoming projects around the parish.

LSP makes arrest for possession of child sexual abuse material and narcotics

MAMOU - On July 31, the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit (LSP SVU) arrested an individual on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material and narcotics. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Trevor Matthews Sr., of Mamou.

Eluse Keith LaTour, of Chataignier, passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 76 after suffering from Parkinson’s disease. A memorial service will be held at Chene Verte at a later date. Keith was the owner of USA Aircraft Brokers. He was a pilot and taught flying lessons.
