Despite the Arctic air cancelling the parade, the Evangeline Parish Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation held its annual program on Monday, January 20, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Ville Platte.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported recent arrests involving a stolen firearm, cruelty to juveniles, and other drug related charges. The following is a rundown of each of the alleged incidents. • On November 22, 2024, deputies with EPSO received a report of a stolen firearm.
