The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
According to reports, a record eight inches of snow blanketed Evangeline Parish. The snowfall amount exceeded the previous record which was set in 1895. In the photo on the left is the Crucifixion statue inside the cemetery at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church as the snow continues to heavily fall on Tuesday, January 21.

By: TONY MARKS Editor Evangeline Parish residents woke up on the morning of Tuesday, January 21, to a blanket of snow. The frozen precipitation continued to fall throughout most of the day, and some areas got up to an estimated 8 inches of snowfall. Other locations in the area got up to 10 inches.
