Basile forces four turnovers, rolls over E. Beauregard 48-28

BASILE - It’s rare in football that a team can be outgained and lose the time of possession battle by 11 minutes and come out victorious. It’s rare. But not impossible, especially if turnovers are involved.

When Pine Prairie and Mamou met in the jamboree to open the season, it was ultimately with the knowledge that they would see each other again in District 5-3A play. The result, a 20-0 Pine Prairie win, ultimately didn’t count towards either team’s win-loss record.

Quarantine bug again hits Bulldogs

The Ville Platte High football team was informed on Monday that it must quarantine for two weeks due to a pair of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases within its program. It is the third such instance for the program this season, one that has been full of twists and turns for the winless Bulldogs.

Battle of the Bayou trophy goes to Basile with win over Elton

ELTON - As the sun began to set on the western bank of Bayou Nezpique, football teams from two communities separated by five miles met on the field of battle for the right to take home coveted hardware.

A new start on the season

If there was ever a time for the rubber to meet the road for head coach Roy Serie and his Ville Platte Bulldogs, it is this Friday. Serie was encouraged by his team’s second-half performance in its 35-0 loss to Beau Chene.
