Sweet, sweet revenge

EUNICE - Revenge is a dish best served cold. Preferably with a little vitriol stirred in and a sprinkling of malice to boot. Two years ago, the last time Sacred Heart played St. Ed’s and the Blue Jays defeated the Trojans, it didn’t exactly end on the nicest terms.

Upward trending Demons prepare for Northwest

It’s been a season-long process for Mamou to get where head coach Dwight Collins wanted them to be. A lot of difficult lessons were learned along the way. They may still be learning, but if last week’s game-clinching drive is any indication of progress then the Green Demons are well on their way.

Panthers look to turn ship around against Iota

With as infectious as winning is, losing can be equally contagious. So it stands to reason that after the heights of its 4-0 start to begin the 2021 season, the lows of Pine Prairie’s current three-game losing streak are on the team’s mind.

Bearcats look to continue hot streak at Merryville

“It’s a goal of ours to get better every week.” As cliche as it may sound, it was an important adage for Basile to live by this season. It missed its first two weeks this season due to Covid, and when it began play it played the likes of Sacred Heart, St. Ed’s, Hamilton Christian and Grand Lake.

Three will get you five

MAMOU - With Pine Prairie threatening to come back after an Elijah George one-yard touchdown run that put the game within one score, Mamou head coach Dwight Collins had one instinct and one instinct alone. Put the ball in quarterback Jalon Bradley’s hands. Let him work his magic. Let him make plays.

OPELOUSAS- Sometimes, the most important thing you can get in the course of a football game is luck. Other times, you’re just flat out the better team on the field. And sometimes, all it takes is an explosion to put you over the top.
