Not just for playoff seeding, or even for championships. It’s more than that. Being the best in your district is accompanied by a sense of pride.

It wasn’t a win on its record books for Pine Prairie when it played Northwest last season. As a matter of fact, it appeared to the naked eye to be just another loss in what would eventually stretch out to be a 21-game losing streak for the Panthers.

PINE PRAIRIE - With 1:43 on the clock, Pine Prairie, trailing 43-36, forced a punt from Grant and regained possession on its 45-yard line. A first-down conversion on 4th-and-1 gave new life and a fresh set of downs on the Grant 35-yard line.

Basile loses a close one against Hornets in Grand Lake

GRAND LAKE - Coming off of last week’s last-second win against Hamilton Christian, Basile knew the path wasn’t getting any easier in District 5-1A play. It was with that in mind that the Bearcats traveled to play the No. 4-ranked Grand Lake Hornets Thursday evening.
