MAMOU - Four hundred fifty-four yards of total offense were amassed by the Mamou Demons Friday night, but the most impressive number was six as the first-team defense only allowed six points in the Green Demons’ 43-12 win over Port Barre.

Panthers remain on historic pace with win over Block

PINE PRAIRIE - It can’t get any better at this point for Pine Prairie football after entering this season with the state’s longest active losing streak of 21 games. That seems like a lifetime ago for the Panthers, who moved to 4-0 Friday night with a 28-6 win over Block.

Changing the script

It feels like the story is getting a little old for Mamou head coach Dwight Collins. His offense gets better and better each week, yet his team continues to come up short in one-score contests. In each of the last two weeks, Mamou has lost by one score. Heartbreaking for sure.

Panthers look to “block” out the opposition at home

The good times keep on rolling for Pine Prairie. Eager to prove themselves after accusations of playing soft competition in its first two weeks, the Panthers responded to that criticism with a 48-12 win over fellow Class 3A team Buckeye last Friday night. Talk about picking on someone your own size.

One step at a time

VILLE PLATTE - It’s been anything but a normal football season for Ville Platte High. After week after week of quarantine, the Bulldogs were finally able to step on the field for competitive action Friday night against Northwood-Lena.
