By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - Coming off an injury last season, Braxton Ardoin returned to the starting five of the Mamou Green Demons and made his presence felt on the court with over 13 points per game.

Fontenot uses run to state to claim top coaching honor

By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - Twenty-two wins to five losses and a 13-game winning streak during the regular season helped the Mamou Green Demons capture a share of the district title in District 4-3A.
Pictured in the left photo are the Sacred Heart boys who finished as state runner-up in powerlifting. Among them are Liam Kincanon, Gavin Patin, Sam LaFleur, Andre Morein, Evan Huffman, Landon Fontenot, Houston Daigle, Ty Pepiton, Luke Vidrine, and JD LaHaye.

Sacred Heart girls, boys; Mamou girls are runners-up at state powerlifting meet

By: TONY MARKS Editor At the state powerlifting meet held last week in Kenner, three parish teams finished runner-up, and three student athletes were crowned state champions. One of the state champions also broke a record in Division V. From Sacred Heart, the boys were runners-up in Division V.

By: TONY MARKS Editor In a 1-0 loss to North Vermilion, on Monday, Pine Prairie sophomore pitcher Kynnedi Ware recorded her 500th strikeout of her career. She went all 6.2 innings in the circle against the Lady Patriots and struck out nine batters.
