By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - In Sacred Heart’s last home game of the regular season, Payton Veillon was perfect through three innings as the Trojans earned a 6-1 win over Pine Prairie. Veillon, in six innings, allowed three hits and struck out one batter.

By: TONY MARKS Editor After an 8-2 win over Catholic-Pointe Coupee and a 5-1 win over Oakdale, the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans earned an 11-0 win over Cecelia for their third win in a row. Amelia Fontenot went all five innings in the circle and gave up no hits.

Fontenot uses run to state to claim top coaching honor

By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - Twenty-two wins to five losses and a 13-game winning streak during the regular season helped the Mamou Green Demons capture a share of the district title in District 4-3A.

By: TONY MARKS Editor At the state powerlifting meet held last week in Kenner, three parish teams finished runner-up, and three student athletes were crowned state champions. One of the state champions also broke a record in Division V. From Sacred Heart, the boys were runners-up in Division V.

By: TONY MARKS Editor In a 1-0 loss to North Vermilion, on Monday, Pine Prairie sophomore pitcher Kynnedi Ware recorded her 500th strikeout of her career. She went all 6.2 innings in the circle against the Lady Patriots and struck out nine batters.
