Charlie allows one hit as Ville Platte blanks Opelousas

By: TONY MARKS Editor Camryn Charlie allowed only one hit in her four innings of work inside the circle as the Ville Platte High softball team blanked Opelousas 15-0. Charlie struck out nine batters she faced and also collected two hits from the leadoff position.

Trojans grab lead late to down Gators

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Sacred Heart baseball team coughed up three runs in the bottom of the first inning against Beau Chene but scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win.

Mamou begins playoff push with back-to-back wins

By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - The 5th seed Mamou Green Demons are one win away from the Division III Non-Select state tournament in Lake Charles. The team will now play 4th seed Doyle in the quarterfinals. The game is set for Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. in Doyle.

Pitching and timely hitting lead Mamou to wins over Abbeville

By: TONY MARKS Editor Tyson Bryant threw a no-hitter, and Ethan McCauley followed it up with a perfect game as Mamou swept a double-header against Abbeville on Saturday. In the first game of the twin bill, which was a 10-0 Mamou win, Bryant struck out 9 batters and allowed only 1 walk in 5 innings.

Lady Bulldogs win in overtime to reach quarterfinals for first time in nine years
