Pedestrian Killed in Evangeline Parish Crash

Mamou – On June 8, 2024, shortly before midnight, Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash involving a pedestrian on Louisiana Highway 104 near Studio Lane. The crash claimed the life of 63-year-old Sharron Hampshire of Ville Platte.

Arrest is made for attempted murder in VP

Chief Al Perry Thomas reported on the afternoon of May 31, Sgt. Darrian Guillory, with the Ville Platte Police Department, responded to a call in reference to a man being shot on MLK Street. Sgt. Guillory noticed the victim was shot in his left arm.

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office releases the following: On June 6, 2024 at approximately 2:05 pm Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated a pursuit at mile marker 45 North on Interstate I49 in Evangeline Parish.

Deshotel is arrested for child pornography

On May 24 th , 2024 Pine Prairie Police received a complaint in reference to indecent behavior with a juvenile. Upon investigation, suspect Dillon Deshotel (25 years old of Pine Prairie), acted in an inappropriate manor with a juvenile.

Arrest is made

On May 13, at around 4 p.m., the Criminal Investigations Division of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center advising that deputies were on the scene of a shooting on Chatagnier Road near the Dollar General.

Anderson is convicted

The Evangeline Parish District Attorney's Office announced Blake K. Anderson's conviction on one count of second-degree rape on May 9. Anderson was sentenced to serve 22 years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
